5 days out

How many of you celebrated that you woke up this morning?  Will you celebrate making it to work without dying in a car accident?  Do you celebrate each breath you take that gives you life?  We don't normally celebrate that which we expect to happen.

The reality is that 99% of new churches survive the first year.  But we aren't celebrating this Sunday because we made it.  We are celebrating what God has done over the last year.

In I Peter it says that our enemy is like a hungry lion roaming around looking for people to devour.  When you understand that you have just escaped the attack of a hungry lion you celebrate.  CITYChurch is a refuge for people who don't want to be eaten.  We want to be a community that rescues people from being devoured by Satan.  In CITYChurch, God is building another safe haven.  A place to come to be rescued from the lion.  And that is worth celebrating.

We should live like rescued people.  We should celebrate and sing and pray and serve like rescued people.

Please join us in praying that God will use CITYChurch to rescue more people in our 2nd year.  Pray that he will build up leaders in our community who are committed to this mission.

In 5 days we will share what we believe to be God's plan for our 2nd year.  Our plan to take back ground that our enemy has stolen from God.  I hope that you are as excited as we are to take this next step.
