If we could do it all over again

At exactly this time last year we had expectations.  No real knowledge or experience of what we were getting into.  Theory, hope, and dreams.  So now with a year of actual experience under our belts, I wonder what we would do differently if we went back in time.

Probably not much.  We would have bought a trailer before the first week instead of trying to pack all the stuff in multiple trucks.  We would have figured out a better way to hang the screen a little bit sooner.

Overall I don't think we would do much different.  It's not that we didn't make mistakes.  We did.  I won't waste your time listing all the mistakes we have made.  But something amazing has come with our mistakes.  GRACE.  God has covered our mistakes.  Worked in our weakness.  And used our imperfect plans.  It has been a constant reminder that the secret to bringing God glory is not correcting all of our mistakes.  The secret is admitting that there is only one way to have our mistakes overcome.  JESUS.

Jesus said this to Paul: “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”

And Paul's response was:  So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.  That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.    (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

We will always work to correct our mistakes and to improve.  But we will try to always remember that the power is really in God's desire to work in our weakness, not in our ability to do something well.

So here is to making more mistakes, being weaker, getting insulted more, and having more troubles in year two.
