This week in CITYGroups

This week in CITYGroups we will be looking at I John 2:18-29.  Check back here on Thursday for some of the highlights of what we learned in our discussion.

Here is a Bible gateway link to the reading.

Here is what we learned in our CITYGroups this week:

Jesus is absolutely central to salvation.  It does no good to believe in God but dismiss Jesus.

Our enemy wants us to spend time looking for THE Antichrist so that the many antichrists can silently lead us away from Jesus.

Our protection against the many antichrists is the spirit of God living in our life.

The message of the gospel can make us sound closed minded and judgmental, but we stand by the gospel because it is true and it is the only source of true life.

If you deny Jesus then you are a liar, if you are a liar then you have no part in God the Father.  If you don't have Jesus and the Father then you are an antichrist.  So anyone who denies that Jesus is the only savior of the world is an antichrist.  Don't be an antichrist.

The journey of a Christ follower is to remain faithful even as our enemies try to pull us away from Jesus.

If you missed the discussion you missed the best part of it.  But that is the synopsis.
